Bama B&B - Capstone Suite

John Quincy Adams had just been elected president of the United States and the Erie Canal had just been completed. A short six years before the University of Alabama enrolled its first student, the dog trot farmhouse that would become the Bama Bed & Breakfast started its life on the banks of the Black Warrior River in 1823.

Our 1823 Capstone Suite is a tribute to the year that this Tuscaloosa lodging was built, and its furnishings and décor are reflective of the lifestyle of a Southern family shortly after the turn of the 19th century. Featuring a Queen bed and private bath with claw-foot tub and shower head, and a view of the front yard through the large columns, our Capstone Suite is guaranteed comfort with a touch of American History!

The Capstone Suite features a Queen bed and a Twin bed with a Twin Trundle bed, and a private bath.

The Bathroom features a Clawfoot tub that is retrofitted comfortably as a shower as well.

*Parking: Only 1 parking spot is included with your reservation. If you need an extra spot, reach out for availability and options. For event weekends, there is an extra charge for additional parking spots and is subject to availability.

*There are exterior security cameras located at the front and back of the property. This includes the pool and/or hot tub. These devices may not be tampered with, covered, or unplugged by guests.*

*All reservations made within 2 weeks of date of arrival are subject to require in person Government Issued ID verification.*

*If your selected property offers the use of trundle beds, upper bunks of bunk beds, roll-aways, futons, or flip sofas these beds will not be made up in advance. Linens are provided and should be stored with these beds.*

The location was perfect for walking around campus - easy to get to everything, but very quiet. And I can't say enough about the hospitality of Marc and Kim and their entire staff. The amenities were top notch - the place is exceptionally clean, bright, well-maintained and offers inviting indoor and outdoor spaces, such as a game room, multiple seating areas a hot tub and porch with fireplace. It is not far from the Strip area, and we basically parked our car and walked everyone, including downtown. The breakfast was substantial and delicious, and it was very gracious of the hosts to invite our daughter to join us. We would definitely stay here again and would strongly recommend it as a quiet retreat from busy Tuscaloosa.

  Such a great option in Tuscaloosa, so clean and nice, the bed is amazing A+. Be prepared however to be accountable. We are in town to visit our daughter for parents weekend and our schedule changes on a whim with trying to align all the parents and students schedules. The text in the day asking if we are coming breakfast the next day and to let them know our plans was a little exhausting. I feel like, I am home with my parents. If I went to a regular hotel with a breakfast, I would not have to tell them if I was coming or not. I wish they would just make breakfast for the guest whether we come or not or allow us grab it of the fridge later. The price we are paying I should not have to feel guilty if we cannot make breakfast. I love this place so much but our priority over the weekend is our daughter and connecting with her friends and parents, so if our plans change, they should be able to change with out a guilt trip that they made a lot of food and they expected to see us at breakfast. I will probably go to a regular hotel next time, but for those with a less hectic schedule and like connecting with other guest, this place is perfect!
