Bama B&B - Tusk Suite

In 1861 Alabama, along with 10 other states, seceded from the union to form the Confederate States of America launching the country into the American Civil War. Fighting would last for four long years, claim over 600,000 lives and cost the country 5.2 billion dollars. Union troops would spare only seven buildings on the campus of the University of Alabama. Of those seven buildings, only four remain today - The President's Mansion and its outbuildings, The Gorgas House, The Roundhouse, and The Observatory (now Maxwell Hall).

Our 1860 Tusk Suite reflects the life and times of Alabama just prior to the start of the American Civil War. With a view of the stadium, this suite features a King bed and a private bath with a tiled shower, this Alabama bed and breakfast room is a perfect getaway for anyone looking to enjoy a trip to Tuscaloosa!

*Parking: Only 1 parking spot is included with your reservation. If you need an extra spot, reach out for availability and options. For event weekends, there is an extra charge for additional parking spots and is subject to availability.

*There are exterior security cameras located at the front and back of the property. This includes the pool and/or hot tub. These devices may not be tampered with, covered, or unplugged by guests.*

*All reservations made within 2 weeks of date of arrival are subject to require in person Government Issued ID verification.*

*If your selected property offers the use of trundle beds, upper bunks of bunk beds, roll-aways, futons, or flip sofas these beds will not be made up in advance. Linens are provided and should be stored with these beds.*

  My husband and I checked watching a Bama game at Tuscaloosa off his bucket list. We loved staying with Marc, Kim and Amanda as much as watching the game! We stayed in the Tusk room and it was fabulous. The house is gorgeous, homemade cookies delicious, bed and pillows were very comfortable, shower wonderful, snacks in the room a welcome treat, grounds are amazing, everything is very clean and the breakfast each morning was the icing on the cake! It’s VERY close to the stadium. We walked to The Strip in no time at all. And did I mention the homemade breakfast? Staying with them felt like staying with friends. They had anything you could think of or needed. They were truly interested in making you feel right at home and having conversations with you as well as answering questions about the history of the house, restaurant recommendations, etc. All the guests were very nice and we plan to stay here again. Upon leaving, Kim gave us a big hug and told us to visit again soon. We are from the south and their warm, genuine hospitality definitely lived up to and exceeded our expectations. But don’t take our word for it, check this southern gem out for yourself. You won’t be disappointed!

  Bama B&B was a great find for us. We stayed here for the weekend of the Texas/Alabama football game and it couldn’t have worked out better for us. The location was perfect. We were able to walk to the River Walk, Market and the stadium. The rooms were very well equipped and stocked. The entire staff was phenomenal. They were communicative, hospitable and friendly-even despite their loss game loss! We had to leave on Sunday before breakfast was being served but they kindly made us a to-go breakfast the night before. We highly recommend Bama B&B and would return.
